What is Telecommunication?

In the early 20th century, Alexander Graham Bell’s invention of the telephone made it possible to carry voice communications over long distances. With the widespread use of the telephone, there has been a major transformation in personal and business communication. The invention of radio and television allowed for the mass dissemination of information and entertainment and increased the power of the media.
With the onset of the digital age, mobile phones, developed in the 1970s and commercialized in the 1980s, enabled individuals to have personal communication tools that they could carry with them. The rapid spread of the Internet throughout the 1990s and 2000s democratized access to information and facilitated the exchange of information worldwide. 4G and 5G technologies have increased mobile internet speeds, making it possible to support data-intensive activities such as video streaming, online games and cloud-based applications.
Today, telecommunications; It is a critical infrastructure that profoundly impacts every aspect of society, including the global economy, education and healthcare. As technology continues to evolve rapidly, the evolution of telecommunications will continue uninterrupted.
